After 5 played minutes Patrick Tepedino rounded S S Palestra Italia's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. 7 minutes into the match, S S Palestra Italia's goal looked a bit too open when Patrick Tepedino came free, but Jarbas Guedes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zé Roberto Moura recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Itaberaba's Vinícius Sergipano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Inácio Figueiredo in the 22nd minute of play. Patrick Tepedino in the 30thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Jarbas Guedes, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 31st minute, Nestor Bernal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. S S Palestra Italia's Inácio Figueiredo got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Inácio Figueiredo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vinícius Sergipano was relentless in the 39th minute of the game. Vinícius Sergipano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zé Roberto Moura in the 40th minute of play. In the 40th minute Rony Tasso suffered a knee injury and had to be helped off the field. Evaristo Dracena's late challenge caught a S S Palestra Italia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Evaristo Dracena helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Itaberaba's Evaristo Dracena got a free kick in the 41st minute. The S S Palestra Italia fans' excitement grew in the 45th match minute when S S Palestra Italia's Inácio Figueiredo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Zé Roberto Moura to strike the kick off in the second half. S S Palestra Italia's Zé Roberto Moura got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 55 minutes into the match, S S Palestra Italia's Inácio Figueiredo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Vinícius Sergipano narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Itaberaba booed when S S Palestra Italia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Inácio Figueiredo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Inácio Figueiredo in the 62nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Vinícius Sergipano prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 63 minutes had been played when some careless play by Itaberaba's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Inácio Figueiredo was slow to take the kick. During this time S S Palestra Italia's players had a chance to rest. S S Palestra Italia's Nestor Bernal was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Vinícius Sergipano in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Tomas Roano was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 68 minutes into the match. A collision led to S S Palestra Italia getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Tomas Roano hit a great ball. 70 minutes into the match, S S Palestra Italia's goal looked a bit too open when Tony Toledo came free, but Jarbas Guedes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zé Roberto Moura kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. Jarbas Guedes came out of the goal in the 74th minute to try and stop a shot by Itaberaba's Tostão Barreto. But to his dismay, Tostão Barreto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. Vinícius Sergipano made an important save on a dangerous shot by Inácio Figueiredo in the 77th minute. Jarbas Guedes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Patrick Tepedino's shot from short distance in the 79th minute. Inácio Figueiredo struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Vinícius Sergipano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for S S Palestra Italia. S S Palestra Italia's Jarbas Guedes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tostão Barreto in the 91st minute of play. The supporters of Itaberaba booed when S S Palestra Italia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gilvan Seco didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the final whistle sounded S S Palestra Italia left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Itaberaba.
