Despite this Severo Neto quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Cristian Mergildo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Haarald Sauna in the 9th minute of play. But to his dismay, Adamantios Geronimidis quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Cristian Mergildo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Haarald Sauna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Hector Dominic's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cristian Mergildo was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. C.A. LANUS had won after a very even match.
