Kléber Cavalcante might have been able to make a better finish in the 12th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Silvestre Oro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kléber Cavalcante ran back to his position shaking his head. 13 minutes into the match, Oséias Nascimento had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tiago Godoi. São Paulo F.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Oséias Nascimento was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Varadouro F. C.'s Silvestre Oro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Romildo Pratti in the 17th minute of play. 18 minutes into the match, São Paulo F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Inácio Miranda came free, but Tiago Godoi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tiago Godoi made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Oséias Nascimento sent off a good shot on target. Silvestre Oro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Romildo Pratti in the 23rd minute of the match. Murillo Cordeiro charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Murillo Cordeiro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 25 played minutes São Paulo F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Murillo Cordeiro. São Paulo F.C.'s Tiago Godoi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save São Paulo F.C. from getting a goal against them. Inácio Miranda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Tiago Godoi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Silvestre Oro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kléber Cavalcante, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When Murillo Cordeiro was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 56 minutes had been played. In the 57th match minute, São Paulo F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Murillo Cordeiro to maneuver through the defense. Oséias Nascimento struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Tiago Godoi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Varadouro F. C.. Tiago Godoi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Oséias Nascimento's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. Romildo Pratti recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. São Paulo F.C.'s Yaya Sow was substituted for Vito Travassos. In the 72nd minute Inácio Miranda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tiago Godoi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Varadouro F. C. getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Eddie Njurenius hit a great ball. Varadouro F. C.'s Silvestre Oro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save Varadouro F. C. from getting a goal against them. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kléber Cavalcante in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Silvestre Oro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. São Paulo F.C. were awarded a corner in the 75th minute after Varadouro F. C.'s defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Yaya Sow took the corner. The corner ended in Yaya Sow almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Varadouro F. C.'s Silvestre Oro did a great save. In the 77th minute, Geovani Coutinho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Silvestre Oro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Romildo Pratti in the 82nd minute of play. In the 83rdth minute of the game Oséias Nascimento who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but São Paulo F.C.'s Tiago Godoi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 88th minute the ball was on its way in behind São Paulo F.C.'s goalkeeper Tiago Godoi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. São Paulo F.C. made a substitution. Dirk Snabl replaced Edmílson Lago. After 90 played minutes São Paulo F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Yago Leite. Tiago Godoi didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Oséias Nascimento went, in the 94th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. For all the effort they put into the match, the São Paulo F.C. players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Varadouro F. C..
