After 9 minutes Vascogoianiense FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Valdomiro Ribeiro who took care of the corner kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Anderson Passos heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Nelsinho Leite came out of the goal in the 11th minute to try and stop a shot by ✪ XV de Umarizal's Adriano van Beek. But to his dismay, Adriano van Beek quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Dorian Quirino got a throw-in 16 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Pedrinho Vasco. Falcão de Godoi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Domingo Bulnes having to interfere. Domingo Bulnes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aírton Sousa in the 19th minute of the match. After having played for 21 minutes, Alexandre Tepedino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vascogoianiense FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alexandre Tepedino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Luiz Fabiano Amorim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 93rd minute, Aírton Sousa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Vascogoianiense FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-8.
