To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Silvestre Oro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aykut Canel in the 16th minute of play. In the 17th minute of the match, Eddie Njurenius tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Renan Melo saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. With a little luck, A.A. Francana's Renan Melo got control of the ball when Oséias Nascimento tried to sneak it across the goal line. Oséias Nascimento received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Renan Melo came out and tried to block the shot, but Oséias Nascimento slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 18th minute. Silvestre Oro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bernardo Bettencourt went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Silvestre Oro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bernardo Bettencourt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 30 minutes had been played when some careless play by Varadouro F. C.'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Bartosz Bereszynski was slow to take the kick. During this time A.A. Francana's players had a chance to rest. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene.
