Agua Santa's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Oséias Nascimento was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind Varadouro F. C.'s goalkeeper Silvestre Oro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Agua Santa's Frank Rosa got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 41 minutes into the game, Enio Arruda was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Varadouro F. C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Agua Santa the free kick.
