Clube's Albertinho Lima got a good chance for a goal in the 5th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 7th minute Charlie Boström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sílvio Simões saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Roman Koenig fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sílvio Simões having to interfere. Volta Redonda F. Clube's defense didn't have a chance, in the 16th minute, when Aykut Canel scored to the left of an out of position Sílvio Simões, making the score, 1-0. Charlie Boström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 20th minute Aykut Canel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sílvio Simões saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Aykut Canel kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Sílvio Simões. That made the score 2-0 in the 20 minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Volta Redonda F. Clube's zone, Aykut Canel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sílvio Simões came out of the goal and Aykut Canel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sílvio Simões made an important save on a dangerous shot by Aykut Canel in the 24th minute. When the match clock showed 26 minutes, the score became 3-0 when Charlie Boström sped through Volta Redonda F. Clube's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Sílvio Simões. Aykut Canels short, quick shot in the 28thth minute got Sílvio Simões to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Enrique Moraes in the 30th minute of play forced A.A. Francana's goalkeeper Renan Melo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sílvio Simões stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Charlie Boström's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Albertinho Lima during the 32nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 32nd match minute, Volta Redonda F. Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Albertinho Lima to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Aykut Canel got free with Sílvio Simões in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sílvio Simões took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Charlie Boström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With his leg Sílvio Simões managed to avoid a goal in the 37thth minute, when A.A. Francana's Aykut Canel fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 40 minutes into the match, Aykut Canel dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Sílvio Simões, 4-0. Aykut Canel could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Sílvio Simões made a huge save. In the 46th minute, Albertinho Lima hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Aykut Canel received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Sílvio Simões came out and tried to block the shot, but Aykut Canel slotted it home off the left post making it 5-0 in the 47th minute.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Charlie Boström made a kick off. Sílvio Simões showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bartosz Bereszynski, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. In the 57th minute of the match A.A. Francana got a corner. Volta Redonda F. Clube's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Bartosz Bereszynski ran over to the corner to take the kick. Sílvio Simões made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Charlie Boström in the 63rd minute of play. In the 64th minute, Ronaldinho Dracena hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 65th minute Charlie Boström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sílvio Simões saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 69thth minute of the game Aykut Canel who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Volta Redonda F. Clube's Sílvio Simões was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Charlie Boström came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the A.A. Francana fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Charlie Boström couldn't finish the play. Renan Melo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ronaldinho Dracena in the 72nd minute. Albertinho Lima recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 76 minutes of play, A.A. Francana's Aykut Canel made it 6-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sílvio Simões was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, A.A. Francana's Roman Koenig got a free kick in the 79th minute. A sloppy throw-in by Caetano Albuquerque in the 83rd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Volta Redonda F. Clube's Luís Paulo Vidal. Charlie Boström struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Sílvio Simões didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for A.A. Francana. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Charlie Boström in the 88th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sílvio Simões prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 89 minutes of play, A.A. Francana's Aykut Canel made it 7-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sílvio Simões was left in no man's land by his defense there! 92 minutes into the game, Aykut Canel cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 8-0. Sílvio Simões was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Sílvio Simões showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Charlie Boström in the 97th minute of the match. A.A. Francana walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
