The supporters of S.D NARCEA booed when Cometuétano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Argenis Coira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Germán Figueres made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zigor Barroso in the 9th minute of play. Antoni Paris might have been able to make a better finish in the 12th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Germán Figueres. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Antoni Paris ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 15th minute of the match, Manel Quintanilla got a very nice opportunity to score, but Miks Lecis was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Miks Lecis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Calisto Zaplana, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. After a rather tough play, Cometuétano's Xuan Solera got a free kick in the 19th minute. 22 minutes into the match, Cometuétano's goalkeeper Miks Lecis had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Calisto Zaplana. Vidal Vilanova's late challenge caught a S.D NARCEA's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. With 41 minutes on the clock, Aliecer Freire commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 40th minute of the game. One of Cometuétano:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of S.D NARCEA:s goal. Cometuétano:s Miks Lecis showed great skill when he stopped Félix Zărnescu:s penalty. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Eugeniusz Milko was the one to do the kick off. When Orlando Montes fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored S.D NARCEA's protests and gave Orlando Montes a yellow card for diving instead. In the 56th minute, Félix Zărnescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vidal Vilanova hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paquito Rey in the 62nd minute of play forced Cometuétano's goalkeeper Miks Lecis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Zigor Barroso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cometuétano's Miks Lecis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eugeniusz Milko in the 74th minute of play. Miks Lecis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pietro Macia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cometuétano's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
