Dante Fernendo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Torrey Molloy, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Beagan Colwell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Dante Fernendo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 15 played minutes Sporting de Gijón got a freekick which was hit by Denis Bonadona. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Denis Bonadona in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ter Stegen saved 1948 MKS from getting behind. Torrey Molloy took the ball and in the 25 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dante Fernendo. Dante Fernendo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rigan Frankson in the 39th minute of play forced Sporting de Gijón's goalkeeper Dante Fernendo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 41 minutes Sporting de Gijón's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ersin Uyguralp who took care of the corner kick. If Rigan Frankson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The wind increased when Matias Bilintx made the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the game, Niceto Dominix was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sporting de Gijón's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave 1948 MKS the free kick. In the 52nd minute, Niceto Dominix hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, 1948 MKS's Ter Stegen got control of the ball when Matias Bilintx tried to sneak it across the goal line. 65 minutes into the match, 1948 MKS's goal looked a bit too open when Matias Bilintx came free, but Ter Stegen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ersin Uyguralp took the corner. The corner led 1948 MKS's Ersin Uyguralp to fire away a dangerous shot which Dante Fernendo despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. A collision led to 1948 MKS getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Beagan Colwell hit a great ball. The supporters of Sporting de Gijón booed when 1948 MKS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Beagan Colwell didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had gone on for 82 minutes, Rigan Frankson put it in 3-0 from a short distance just to the right of Dante Fernendo. Ter Stegen made a fantastic save in the 86th minute, when Matias Bilintx sent off a good shot on target. Sporting de Gijón's Saturnino Curcio was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Ter Stegen in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 1948 MKS's Ter Stegen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Saturnino Curcio in the 89th minute of play. In the 92nd match minute, 1948 MKS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rigan Frankson to maneuver through the defense. 93 minutes into the match, 1948 MKS's goal looked a bit too open when Matias Bilintx came free, but Ter Stegen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 94 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when 1948 MKS's Torrey Molloy fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. 1948 MKS had won after a very even match.
