Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Martin Idacio took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 4th minute Marin Ciprian shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Everardo Rodas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marin Ciprian in the 5th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Everardo Rodas saved Paikín from getting behind. Marin Ciprian's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Everardo Rodas read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 7th minute of play. In the 8th minute, Marin Ciprian ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Everardo Rodas was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Marin Ciprian struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. Everardo Rodas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Alianza FC. After having played for 16 minutes, Leopoldo Aimar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Alianza FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leopoldo Aimar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 26th minute the ball was on its way in behind Paikín's goalkeeper Everardo Rodas, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 27 minutes Paikín's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Anselmo Greña who took care of the corner kick. In the 29th minute of the match Alianza FC got a corner. Paikín's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Anselmo Greña ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Paikín's goalie and right to Rony Rüşti. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Paikín's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. After a rather tough play, Alianza FC's Jonny Murray got a free kick in the 31st minute. Alianza FC's Orkatz Remolino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ciriaco Guilabertus in the 33rd minute of play. When Marin Ciprian came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Alianza FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marin Ciprian couldn't finish the play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marin Ciprian stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Alianza FC booed when Paikín was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ignat Marinopolski didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marin Ciprian might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Everardo Rodas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Marin Ciprian ran back to his position shaking his head. Alianza FC made a substitution. César Domingues replaced Marin Ciprian. After 69 played minutes Alianza FC got a freekick which was hit by Anselmo Greña. Alianza FC made a substitution. Cordara Herbon replaced Leopoldo Aimar. 70 minutes into the game, one of Alianza FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Paikín a penalty, 74 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Ignat Marinopolski, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Alianza FC's Orkatz Remolino. 2-3. Everardo Rodas was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Anselmo Greña. 87 minutes into the match, Alianza FC's César Domingues sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Everardo Rodas narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 91 minutes, César Domingues put it in 2-4 from a short distance just to the right of Everardo Rodas. The audience thought a goal was coming when César Domingues got free with Everardo Rodas in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Alianza FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
