Andrew Dalli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edmond Verdun having to interfere. In the 7th match minute, Esmeralda AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Niceto Matxin to maneuver through the defense. In the 8th minute, Emílio Terra got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Zülfü Sungur fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edmond Verdun having to interfere. Clemente Silviano hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Kong Kun Xu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. David Banegas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Edmond Verdun read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. A nice corner shot did that Kong Kun Xu got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Edmond Verdun quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 27th minute Andrew Dalli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edmond Verdun saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mauro Rameriz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Jorge Armani tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Edmond Verdun showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andrew Dalli, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. After taking down the ball on Esmeralda AFC's corner Kong Kun Xu fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Edmond Verdun quite easily take care of the ball. Jorge Armani took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emílio Terra, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 36 minutes into the match, Emílio Terra notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Esmeralda AFC's Jorge Armani. Jorge Armani was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After the first half Errecaborda AFC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Andrew Dalli made a kick off. Andrew Dalli received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Edmond Verdun tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In a very dangerous position, a player in Esmeralda AFC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 58th minute. Penalty! The goalkeeper, Jorge Armani, was totally fooled by Errecaborda AFC's Emílio Terra, who 60 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. In the 65th minute, German Llorienzo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 66 minutes into the match, Esmeralda AFC's goalkeeper Jorge Armani had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pastor Ado. Jorge Armani made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Joe Tate sent off a good shot on target. German Llorienzo tried in the game's 74th match minute to clear up in front of his own goal but it went so bad that he put the ball into the goal to the left of an unhappy Jorge Armani. An annoying self made goal, 0-3. Kong Kun Xu kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. Esmeralda AFC's Nicasio Fonda was substituted for David Banegas. After having played for 79 minutes, Emílio Terra managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Errecaborda AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Emílio Terra was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Emílio Terra's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Jorge Armani firmly grabbed it by the left post. Edmond Verdun took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andrew Dalli, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 86 minutes into the match, Esmeralda AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Joe Tate came free, but Jorge Armani reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emílio Terra in the 88th minute of play forced Esmeralda AFC's goalkeeper Jorge Armani to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jorge Armani took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mauro Rameriz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Andrew Dalli during the 93rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 93rd minute, Andrew Dalli hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pastor Ado could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Jorge Armani made a huge save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nicasio Fonda in the 98th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Edmond Verdun saved Errecaborda AFC from getting behind. Errecaborda AFC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
