Eliseu Alagoano charged in rather forcefully in the 9th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Eliseu Alagoano the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Eliseu Alagoano scored 0-1 in the 12th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fernandão Linares, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. João Augusto Messias hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. When the match clock showed 19 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Eliseu Alagoano sped through SAO JOANENSE FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Fernandão Linares. Fernandão Linares didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Eliseu Alagoano went, in the 27th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. In the 31st minute of the match Al-Fajuth got a corner. SAO JOANENSE FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Maicon Zanette ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Maicon Zanette got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Fernandão Linares quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After 34 minutes, Eliseu Alagoano made it 0-5 with a short kick to the right side. SAO JOANENSE FC's Fernandão Linares tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Wilson Matorin might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fernandão Linares. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Wilson Matorin ran back to his position shaking his head. Wilson Matorin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Wilson Matorin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Al-Fajuth's supporters rose to their feet, but Wilson Matorin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fernandão Linares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 45 minutes, Eliseu Alagoano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Al-Fajuth's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eliseu Alagoano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Fernandão Linares stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eliseu Alagoano's shot from short distance in the 48th minute.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for José Duarte to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ciro Meireles in the 52nd minute of play forced SAO JOANENSE FC's goalkeeper Fernandão Linares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fernandão Linares was out of position in the 53 minute of play, and Eliseu Alagoano capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Eliseu Alagoano really showed his touch with that goal: 0-6. Fernandão Linares was annoyed at himself for letting in the shot. Thanks to some nice moves Eliseu Alagoano could shoot a difficult shot in the 66th minute, which Fernandão Linares however easily saved by the left post. With a little luck, SAO JOANENSE FC's Fernandão Linares got control of the ball when Eliseu Alagoano tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Eliseu Alagoano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 69 minutes, Eliseu Alagoano made it 0-9 with a short kick to the right side. SAO JOANENSE FC's Fernandão Linares tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot.
