Lanny Gilmore hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Aaron Smallwood showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from 冯永宽, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Aaron Smallwood took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Danilo Maranhense, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Santos FC's Aaron Smallwood played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Şeray Gürgen in the 41st minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Illinois Bluewaters's zone, Tyron Velasquez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roger Myles came out of the goal and Tyron Velasquez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Santos FC's Aaron Smallwood played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Şeray Gürgen in the 46th minute of play. 47 minutes had been played when some careless play by Santos FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. 冯永宽 was slow to take the kick. During this time Illinois Bluewaters's players had a chance to rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Danilo Maranhense was the one to do the kick off. Santos FC's Aaron Smallwood proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Santos FC from getting a goal against them. Tyron Velasquez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 67 minutes, 冯永宽 managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Illinois Bluewaters's supporters crossed their fingers, but 冯永宽 was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 79 minutes Illinois Bluewaters's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Dominic Albright who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Santos FC's Dominic Albright to fire away a dangerous shot which Roger Myles despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Danilo Maranhense could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 83rd minute of the match, but Aaron Smallwood made a huge save.
