After a defensive mix-up in Santos FC's zone, Arturo Di Rado stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aaron Smallwood came out of the goal and Arturo Di Rado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Santos FC's Tory Weeks quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Rodrigo Caracedo, made in the 10th minute of the game. A collision led to Black Knights FC getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Josu Ocaña hit a great ball. 15 minutes into the match, Santos FC's goalkeeper Aaron Smallwood had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Arturo Di Rado. In the 32nd minute Arturo Di Rado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aaron Smallwood saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Arturo Di Rado came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Black Knights FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arturo Di Rado couldn't finish the play. 38 minutes into the match, Santos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Arturo Di Rado came free, but Aaron Smallwood reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 46th match minute, Santos FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Titus Kohler to maneuver through the defense. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tyron Velasquez to make the kick off. Aaron Smallwood took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arturo Di Rado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Stacy Daniel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mike Richardson, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. 64 minutes in the game, Lanny Gilmore dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Stacy Daniel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lanny Gilmore, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Cesar Small hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. 71 minutes had been played when some careless play by Santos FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Kirby Metzger was slow to take the kick. During this time Black Knights FC's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Black Knights FC's Kirby Metzger to fire away a dangerous shot which Aaron Smallwood despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 73rd minute Arturo Di Rado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aaron Smallwood saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arturo Di Rado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aaron Smallwood having to interfere. Santos FC's Terence Nicholas was substituted for Tyron Velasquez. A throw-in in the 85th minute of the game was made by Cesar Small with Tory Weeks as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. When the match had gone on for 86 minutes, Lanny Gilmore took a quick shot and it went in 2-2 without a chance for Stacy Daniel to make any attempt to save it. Santos FC's Aaron Smallwood played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tyrone Wolff in the 92nd minute of play. Aaron Smallwood showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elliot Mercado, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. Aaron Smallwood didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Elliot Mercado went, in the 95th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score.
