An unexpectedly hard shot by Gustavo Scarpa in the 19th minute of play forced Vista Alegre FC's goalkeeper Ronaldo de Moraes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 22 minutes into the game, Fernando Vale threw the ball into play from the sideline. Vista Alegre FC's Walmyr Tasso quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 28th minute of the game Lex Nelis made a throw-in which Rodrigo Altamirano played forward.
