An unexpectedly hard shot by André Maranhense in the 3rd minute of play forced Compugraf's goalkeeper Geovani Montenegro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 5th minute, Evandro Loyola sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Compugraf's Geovani Montenegro didn't even have to move. A collision led to E.C. Galera getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Naldo Simões hit a great ball. In the 7th minute Arnaldo Duarte shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Agostinho de Azevedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cássio Ribeiro took the ball and in the 8 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Agostinho de Azevedo. Agostinho de Azevedo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 11th match minute, E.C. Galera was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedro Luiz Ortiz to maneuver through the defense. In the 14th minute there was a penalty for Compugraf. Geovani Montenegro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pedro Luiz Ortiz in the 44th minute. After some careless play in the E.C. Galera defense, Wilton Camargo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Agostinho de Azevedo. The E.C. Galera fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Agostinho de Azevedo should have stopped the shot. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when João Carlos Bezerra stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Geovani Montenegro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of André Maranhense's shot from short distance in the 51st minute. João Carlos Bezerra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. A collision led to E.C. Galera getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Jeferson Azevedo hit a great ball. Agostinho de Azevedo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from João Carlos Bezerra went, in the 68th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. Geovani Montenegro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Luiz Ortiz in the 72nd minute of play. Jeferson Azevedo hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. E.C. Galera's Agostinho de Azevedo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save E.C. Galera from getting a goal against them. In the 80th minute Jeferson Azevedo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Geovani Montenegro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 85 minutes into the match, Compugraf's goal looked a bit too open when Pedro Luiz Ortiz came free, but Geovani Montenegro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Geovani Montenegro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jeferson Azevedo, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. After having played for 89 minutes, Evandro Loyola managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. E.C. Galera's supporters crossed their fingers, but Evandro Loyola was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 94 minutes, Arnaldo Duarte mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Compugraf and the E.C. Galera players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 95th minute, Arnaldo Duarte hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 96th minute André Maranhense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Geovani Montenegro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see E.C. Galera lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
