Josué Damião's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Adelino Coelho read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 20th minute of play. Kauã do Vale hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. In the 24th minute, Ricardo Vasques left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SC Braga fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Adelino Coelho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sidnei Félix, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Augusto Lira in the 33rd minute of play forced SC Braga's goalkeeper Adelino Coelho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 35 minutes into the match, Ricardo Vasques dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Hermínio Cunha, 2-1. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sidnei Félix made a kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sidnei Félix got free with Adelino Coelho in the 51st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 52 played minutes SC Braga got a freekick which was hit by Josué Pacheco. Nando Lima fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adelino Coelho having to interfere. Bruno Nóbrega kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. Josué Damião made a great header on Queluzito's corner, it was just that SC Braga's Adelino Coelho managed to reach the ball for a save. 63 minutes into the game, Cássio Osório was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Braga's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Queluzito the free kick. After 64 played minutes SC Braga got a freekick which was hit by Cássio Osório.
