The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Severiano Naike fell near the penalty area in the 2nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored vengadores Fc's protests and gave Severiano Naike a yellow card for diving instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fidel Pietro got free with Cayetano Quinto in the 5th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some careless play in the Vélez Juniors defense, Remigio Valentine kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ulises Sandaili. The Vélez Juniors fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ulises Sandaili should have stopped the shot. A collision led to vengadores Fc getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Leonardo Vidal hit a great ball. After 21 played minutes Vélez Juniors got a freekick which was hit by Aquiles Argina. Victorio Iztal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Aquiles Argina charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aquiles Argina the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Aquiles Argina hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. In the 29th minute Amancio Godoy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cayetano Quinto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fidel Pietro got free with Cayetano Quinto in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Marcos Federigo managed to get in a good position for a shot. vengadores Fc's supporters rose to their feet, but Marcos Federigo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ulises Sandaili breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Leonardo Vidal's late challenge caught a Vélez Juniors's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Leonardo Vidal helped the player get up and apologised. After 46 played minutes vengadores Fc got a freekick which was hit by Leonardo Vidal. Vélez Juniors's Arnulfo Confesor got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Remigio Valentine was the one to do the kick off. Vélez Juniors's Ulises Sandaili played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Remigio Valentine in the 55th minute of play. Fidel Pietro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Cayetano Quinto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vélez Juniors made a substitution. Anacleto Eztebe replaced Fidel Pietro. Anacleto Eztebe kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Severiano Naike in the 72nd minute of play forced Vélez Juniors's goalkeeper Ulises Sandaili to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Vélez Juniors's zone, Remigio Valentine stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ulises Sandaili came out of the goal and Remigio Valentine tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cayetano Quinto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guaberto Maraman in the 77th minute of play. Anastasio Gregory struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Ulises Sandaili didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for vengadores Fc. In the 85th minute, Guaberto Maraman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cayetano Quinto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anacleto Eztebe, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. In the 92nd match minute, Vélez Juniors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Flavio Lugo to maneuver through the defense. The long shot by Victorio Iztal in the 93rd minute really tested Ulises Sandaili's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. In the 94th match minute, Vélez Juniors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arnulfo Confesor to maneuver through the defense. Ulises Sandaili took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Remigio Valentine, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched vengadores Fc eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
