Spectators: 37 (Terracing: 29, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Vitório Lago started the match with the kick off. In the 5th minute, Vitório Lago made a precise shot to the right of Régis de Queirós. Palmeiras's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. In the 7th minute, Vitório Lago ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Régis de Queirós was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. In the 11th minute, Lex De Prins hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Palmeiras's Régis de Queirós played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vitório Lago in the 12th minute of play. 14 minutes had been played when some careless play by Palmeiras's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Niclas Danielsson was slow to take the kick. During this time Palestra do Interior's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Palestra do Interior's corner Niclas Danielsson fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Régis de Queirós quite easily take care of the ball. Allan Varela took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dênis Miranda, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Allan Varela showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iustin Bungeanu, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. 23 minutes into the game, Vitório Lago cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Régis de Queirós was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Vitório Lago's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Régis de Queirós read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 26th minute of play. Régis de Queirós came out of the goal in the 31st minute to try and stop a shot by Palestra do Interior's Vitório Lago. But to his dismay, Vitório Lago quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. Palestra do Interior's Vitório Lago got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Palestra do Interior's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Niclas Danielsson in the 38th minute. The corner ended in Vitório Lago almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Palmeiras's Régis de Queirós did a great save. 39 minutes into the match, Palestra do Interior's goalkeeper Allan Varela had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leonardo Donato. 41 minutes into the game, Vitório Lago cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-5. Régis de Queirós was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vitório Lago in the 45th minute of play forced Palmeiras's goalkeeper Régis de Queirós to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-6.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Iustin Bungeanu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Palmeiras's Lex De Prins got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Vitório Lago could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Régis de Queirós made a huge save. Palestra do Interior's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Niclas Danielsson in the 56th minute. Niclas Danielsson made a great header on Palestra do Interior's corner, it was just that Palmeiras's Régis de Queirós managed to reach the ball for a save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Vitório Lago got free with Régis de Queirós in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 61 minutes, Vitório Lago managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Palestra do Interior's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vitório Lago was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Palestra do Interior made a substitution. Hudson Sergipano replaced Niclas Danielsson. Allan Varela showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iustin Bungeanu, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Paulo Godoi took the ball and in the 71 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Régis de Queirós. Régis de Queirós dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-7. Paulo Godoi scored 0-8 in the 75th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Régis de Queirós, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Palmeiras's Waldemar Jacinto was substituted for Valdir Lopes. Palmeiras's Régis de Queirós played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hudson Sergipano in the 84th minute of play. After some careless play in the Palmeiras defense, Paulo Godoi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Régis de Queirós. The Palmeiras fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Régis de Queirós should have stopped the shot. Hudson Sergipano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 94th minute, one of Palmeiras:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Palmeiras. Régis de Queirós had in the 96thth minute some difficulties stopping Paulo Godoi's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. In the 99thth minute of the game Paulo Godoi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Palmeiras's Régis de Queirós was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The Palestra do Interior players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
