Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Niilo Mikkola in the 8th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Régis de Queirós prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Régis de Queirós showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jacobo Casado in the 13th minute of the match. Régis de Queirós took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jacobo Casado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Leif Törnqvist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Norberto Trevisan kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. Dinei Pinheiro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kléberson Neiva in the 28th minute. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Niilo Mikkola stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Juninho Sergipano during the 52nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 52nd match minute, SeleSantos FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juninho Sergipano to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Iustin Bungeanu in the 60th minute of play forced SeleSantos FC's goalkeeper Dinei Pinheiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Iustin Bungeanu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 64th minute Iustin Bungeanu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dinei Pinheiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Jacobo Casado's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Régis de Queirós was relentless in the 65th minute of the game. 66 minutes into the game, Leonardo Donato was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Palmeiras's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SeleSantos FC the free kick. 67 minutes into the match, Palmeiras's goalkeeper Régis de Queirós had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Niilo Mikkola. Dinei Pinheiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iustin Bungeanu in the 75th minute of play. Niilo Mikkola in the 76thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Régis de Queirós, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. SeleSantos FC's Dinei Pinheiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Iustin Bungeanu in the 77th minute of play. In the 79th match minute, Palmeiras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dênis Miranda to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Iustin Bungeanu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Palmeiras's supporters rose to their feet, but Iustin Bungeanu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dinei Pinheiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Régis de Queirós showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leif Törnqvist, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. In the 88thth minute of the game Bernt Jønsson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SeleSantos FC's Dinei Pinheiro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jacobo Casado kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. Dinei Pinheiro came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by Palmeiras's Iustin Bungeanu. But to his dismay, Iustin Bungeanu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. 95 minutes into the match, Palmeiras's goal looked a bit too open when Leif Törnqvist came free, but Régis de Queirós reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Régis de Queirós didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Leif Törnqvist went, in the 95th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score.
