Pat Zamora made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcio Carreira in the 15th minute of play. Frances Jaraba made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Danny Clegg sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Memphis Grizzlies's Yin Zhen Feng got a free kick in the 17th minute. In the 19th minute, Gică Popescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Frances Jaraba showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ethan Smart, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. In the 22nd minute of the match Memphis Grizzlies got a corner. FCSB CUENCA's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Samuil Saldzhiev ran over to the corner to take the kick. 24 minutes into the game, Ethan Smart cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Frances Jaraba was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 29th minute, Manuel Navarro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Manuel Navarro took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 46th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Pat Zamora. Memphis Grizzlies's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Danny Clegg stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Brandon Branson replaced Ethan Smart. 78 minutes had been played when some careless play by FCSB CUENCA's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Samuil Saldzhiev was slow to take the kick. During this time Memphis Grizzlies's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Memphis Grizzlies's Samuil Saldzhiev to fire away a dangerous shot which Frances Jaraba despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. A collision led to Memphis Grizzlies getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Spike Bond hit a great ball. Spike Bond fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frances Jaraba having to interfere. Pat Zamora made a fantastic save in the 91st minute, when Marcio Carreira sent off a good shot on target. When Eric Choupo-Moting, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 93 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Frances Jaraba was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Memphis Grizzlies walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
