When the match had gone on for 24 minutes, Thierry Henry put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Monte Lobato. In the 29th minute the ball was on its way in behind Tasso FC's goalkeeper Monte Lobato, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 30th minute Thierry Henry shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Monte Lobato saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Delfim de Lara to make the kick off. In the 53rd match minute, Tasso FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Reinaldo Vilaverde to maneuver through the defense. Monte Lobato stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Thierry Henry's shot from short distance in the 57th minute. Pragmáticos 1903's attentive Tião Maia managed to snatch the ball when Delfim Madruga made a throw-in in the 59th minute of the game. Tasso FC's Monte Lobato proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 61st minute of the match, managed to save Tasso FC from getting a goal against them. With an all-out effort, Pragmáticos 1903's Monte Lobato threw himself towards the right post 64 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ruud Gullit, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Delfim de Lara managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pragmáticos 1903's supporters rose to their feet, but Delfim de Lara was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Monte Lobato breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Pragmáticos 1903's Ferenc Puskás was substituted for Delfim de Lara. Monte Lobato didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 68th minute, which inside left pole to 0-4. Tasso FC made a substitution. Gualter Rebelo replaced Marcos Cesário. The crowd rose to their feet as Pragmáticos 1903's Ferenc Puskás slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Monte Lobato. That made the score 0-6 after 83 minutes of play. Pragmáticos 1903 made a substitution. Ismael Severo replaced Thierry Henry. Monte Lobato was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Ismael Severo showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-7 in the 89 minute of play. Walmyr Severo's late challenge caught a Tasso FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Walmyr Severo helped the player get up and apologised. Walmyr Severo hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. The Tasso FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Pragmáticos 1903 were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
