Tiago Machado started the match with the kick off. José Vítor Botelho's late challenge caught a EDI MZB's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. José Vítor Botelho helped the player get up and apologised. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gilvan Faria got free with Luizão Diniz in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Telmo Bueno showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from César Fantini in the 9th minute of the match. 13 minutes into the game, Serginho Paulista was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. EDI MZB's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ꑿ.Ꮳ. ꋪꋬℑꋬꇓ the free kick. After a rather tough play, EDI MZB's Serginho Paulista got a free kick in the 13th minute. Luizão Diniz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tiago Machado in the 19th minute of play. 23 minutes had been played when some careless play by ꑿ.Ꮳ. ꋪꋬℑꋬꇓ's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gilvan Faria was slow to take the kick. During this time EDI MZB's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on EDI MZB's corner Gilvan Faria fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Luizão Diniz quite easily take care of the ball. Luizão Diniz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tiago Machado, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Telmo Bueno showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from César Fantini in the 25th minute of the match. The supporters of EDI MZB booed when ꑿ.Ꮳ. ꋪꋬℑꋬꇓ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gilvan Faria ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Gilvan Faria almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but ꑿ.Ꮳ. ꋪꋬℑꋬꇓ's Luizão Diniz did a great save. César Fantini kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. João Augusto de Sena scored 0-1 in the 37th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Telmo Bueno, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 40th minute, Gilvan Faria ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Luizão Diniz was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. César Fantini was shown his second yellow card after 43 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Abelardo Toscano managed to get in a good position for a shot. ꑿ.Ꮳ. ꋪꋬℑꋬꇓ's supporters rose to their feet, but Abelardo Toscano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Telmo Bueno breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Telmo Bueno was a little too slow when Cido Queirós got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 54th minute. The score was now 1-2. In the 65th minute Tiago Machado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luizão Diniz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 67 minutes into the match, EDI MZB's goal looked a bit too open when Cido Queirós came free, but Telmo Bueno reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to ꑿ.Ꮳ. ꋪꋬℑꋬꇓ getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Alfredo Albuquerque hit a great ball. In the 75th minute Evandro Maia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luizão Diniz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as ꑿ.Ꮳ. ꋪꋬℑꋬꇓ's Cido Queirós slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Telmo Bueno. That made the score 2-3 after 81 minutes of play. Luizão Diniz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Evandro Maia in the 89th minute of play. Cido Queirós recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 97th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
