AC Rangers's Rosendo Balesio tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Rosendo Balesio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Darío Graabirk, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. In the 20th minute, Ali Nabi Özduru ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rosendo Balesio was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. 23 minutes into the match, AC Rangers's goal looked a bit too open when Darío Graabirk came free, but Rosendo Balesio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. René Stam showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emiliano Aznaro, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. After the first half Las Palmas were leading 0-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

AC Rangers's Yücel Özakıncı was substituted for Guido Ler. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Emiliano Aznaro was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Las Palmas's goal looked a bit too open when Leukothoe Sakelaris came free, but René Stam reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 56 minutes into the game, Humberto Beturian was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. AC Rangers's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Las Palmas the free kick. After 56 played minutes AC Rangers got a freekick which was hit by Humberto Beturian. Rosendo Balesio made a fantastic save in the 66th minute, when Darío Graabirk sent off a good shot on target. 66 minutes into the match, AC Rangers's goalkeeper Rosendo Balesio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Darío Graabirk. After 67 played minutes AC Rangers got a freekick which was hit by Crispin Grassow. With his leg Rosendo Balesio managed to avoid a goal in the 69thth minute, when Las Palmas's Darío Graabirk fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Darío Graabirk could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Rosendo Balesio made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by 秦西星 in the 77th minute of play forced AC Rangers's goalkeeper Rosendo Balesio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. AC Rangers's Amancio Inocente was substituted for Emiliano Aznaro. Las Palmas's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gualterio Bakar in the 80th minute. The corner ended in Gualterio Bakar almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but AC Rangers's Rosendo Balesio did a great save. The crowd rose to their feet as Rogelio Crescencio kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Rosendo Balesio. That made the score 0-6 in the 81 minute of play. Totin Nuñez hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Rosendo Balesio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Darío Graabirk, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Las Palmas played a much better game than AC Rangers and deserved their victory. The AC Rangers players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
