With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hamza Veli prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Hamza Veli showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Demis Tassakos, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Dimitris Korobos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Hamza Veli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Werder Weremem's Ahmet Erdem Ecemiş got a free kick in the 33rd minute. After 39 played minutes Werder Weremem got a freekick which was hit by Bektaş Evliya. Hamza Veli showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dimitris Korobos, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. 44 minutes had been played when some careless play by Werder Weremem's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Akis Koukoulekis was slow to take the kick. During this time RIO FC's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on RIO FC's corner Akis Koukoulekis fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Hamza Veli quite easily take care of the ball. When Demis Tassakos came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the RIO FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Demis Tassakos couldn't finish the play. After the first half RIO FC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The Werder Weremem fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hamza Veli should have stopped the shot. When the match had gone on for 78 minutes, Renos Papoutsas put it in 0-4 from a short distance just to the right of Hamza Veli. Avraam Pedoulakis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Faik Tunçbay in the 82nd minute of the match. Demis Tassakos hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Hamza Veli showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Renos Papoutsas, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. After some careless play in the Werder Weremem defense, Renos Papoutsas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hamza Veli. Renos Papoutsas showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-6. Dimitris Korobos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 97th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
