The supporters of Club Atlético Atlanta booed when SC Freiburg 1904 e.V. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. After some careless play in the Club Atlético Atlanta defense, Enrico Schmedes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Carlos Germano. The Club Atlético Atlanta fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Carlos Germano should have stopped the shot. Carlos Germano didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Enrico Schmedes went, in the 35th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. A very good chance. Mark Flecken came out of the goal in the 44th minute to try and stop a shot by Club Atlético Atlanta's Eustaquio Jaizki. But to his dismay, Eustaquio Jaizki quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. The Club Atlético Atlanta players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. SC Freiburg 1904 e.V. were winning 1-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Eustaquio Jaizki stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rolland Sallai in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Carlos Germano prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Mark Flecken took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benigno Abreu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Club Atlético Atlanta's Carlos Germano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adam Lischka in the 55th minute of play. In the 57th minute, SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s Adam Lischka ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Carlos Germano. Carlos Germano yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-4. In the 60th match minute, Club Atlético Atlanta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hermengildo Erroman to maneuver through the defense. After 78 minutes of play, SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s Burkhard Schlick made it 1-6 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Carlos Germano was left in no man's land by his defense there! SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s Benny Dörfler was substituted for Kenneth Schmidt. The audience thought a goal was coming when Burkhard Schlick got free with Carlos Germano in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the match had gone on for 95 minutes, Enrico Schmedes took a quick shot and it went in 1-9 without a chance for Carlos Germano to make any attempt to save it. The Club Atlético Atlanta fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. SC Freiburg 1904 e.V. were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
