GRÊMIO's Maicon Capitão was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Flavio Pasquarelli in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Lázaro Mincho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Augusto Vieri, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. The supporters of Gonzo Style f.c booed when GRÊMIO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abel Pirani didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in GRÊMIO's zone, Enrico Tassotti stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lázaro Mincho came out of the goal and Enrico Tassotti tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Flavio Pasquarelli took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roberto Fontes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lázaro Mincho came out of the goal in the 23rd minute to try and stop a shot by Gonzo Style f.c's Enrico Tassotti. But to his dismay, Enrico Tassotti quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. When GRÊMIO's 史挺南 in the 33rd minute got a chance for a shot 33rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Gonzo Style f.c's goalie prevented a goal. GRÊMIO's Lázaro Mincho proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save GRÊMIO from getting a goal against them. Flavio Pasquarelli stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Roberto Fontes's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. In the 38th minute, one of Gonzo Style f.c:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Gonzo Style f.c. If 史挺南 had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. GRÊMIO's Lázaro Mincho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Augusto Vieri in the 42nd minute of play. Achille Luciano received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Lázaro Mincho came out and tried to block the shot, but Achille Luciano slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 44th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Enrico Tassotti to make the kick off. Lázaro Mincho stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Achille Luciano's shot from short distance in the 51st minute. In the 55th minute, Dráuzio Alagoano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Achille Luciano took the ball and in the 59 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lázaro Mincho. Lázaro Mincho dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. 68 minutes into the match, GRÊMIO's goal looked a bit too open when Augusto Vieri came free, but Lázaro Mincho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 史挺南 sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 75th minute 史挺南 shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flavio Pasquarelli saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 77th minute Augusto Vieri shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lázaro Mincho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lázaro Mincho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Firmani in the 84th minute of play. A collision led to GRÊMIO getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Abel Pirani hit a great ball. Augusto Vieri fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lázaro Mincho having to interfere.
