Färid Mondragón showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abel Pirani in the 8th minute of the match. GRÊMIO's Roger Machado was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Färid Mondragón in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 11th match minute, GRÊMIO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roger Machado to maneuver through the defense. If Róbert Benkó had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 17th match minute, GRÊMIO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roger Machado to maneuver through the defense. 史挺南 kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. In the 21st minute Róbert Benkó shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lázaro Mincho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Färid Mondragón made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when 史挺南 sent off a good shot on target. Färid Mondragón made an important save on a dangerous shot by 史挺南 in the 31st minute. In the 32nd minute, Diego Maurino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Armada's zone, Roger Machado stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Färid Mondragón came out of the goal and Roger Machado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Róbert Benkó took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lázaro Mincho. Lázaro Mincho dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After 39 minutes of play, Armada's Róbert Benkó made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lázaro Mincho was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, GRÊMIO's Roger Machado got a free kick in the 46th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Róbert Benkó managed to get in a good position for a shot. Armada's supporters rose to their feet, but Róbert Benkó was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lázaro Mincho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Róbert Benkó was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Róbert Benkó ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lázaro Mincho was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Roger Machado got a throw-in 56 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Geovanni Maia. Roberto Fontes hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. If Róbert Benkó had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 72 minutes into the game, Róbert Benkó recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Lázaro Mincho. Róbert Benkó showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-4. In the 77th minute Abel Pirani shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Färid Mondragón saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 83rd minute the ball was on its way in behind GRÊMIO's goalkeeper Lázaro Mincho, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Róbert Benkó in the 92nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lázaro Mincho prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Róbert Benkó in the 92nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lázaro Mincho saved GRÊMIO from getting behind.
