Tiaguinho Correia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulo Laurentzi, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. The supporters of Trindade Atlético Club booed when Criciúma Esporte Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bartolomeo Simpson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Criciúma Esporte Clube's Evelio Antoniano proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Criciúma Esporte Clube from getting a goal against them. After 23 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Criciúma Esporte Clube! Tiaguinho Correia stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gaztea Regalado's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. In the 36th minute Paulo Laurentzi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tiaguinho Correia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind Criciúma Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Evelio Antoniano, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Paulo Laurentzi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dragoş Vâtcu received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Evelio Antoniano came out and tried to block the shot, but Dragoş Vâtcu slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 47th minute.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gaztea Regalado made a kick off. 54 minutes into the match, Dagoberto Dracena notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Criciúma Esporte Clube's Evelio Antoniano. Evelio Antoniano was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 61 minutes into the game, Trindade Atlético Club's Dagoberto Dracena nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Evelio Antoniano made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0. After 65 played minutes Criciúma Esporte Clube got a freekick which was hit by Bartolomeo Simpson. After 68 minutes of play, Trindade Atlético Club's Dagoberto Dracena made it 6-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Evelio Antoniano was left in no man's land by his defense there! Trindade Atlético Club made a substitution. Róbson Couto replaced Dagoberto Dracena. An unexpectedly hard shot by Róbson Couto in the 77th minute of play forced Criciúma Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Evelio Antoniano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Evelio Antoniano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Róbson Couto in the 78th minute of play. 84 minutes into the match, Trindade Atlético Club's Róbson Couto sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Evelio Antoniano narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Enio Koehler kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Trindade Atlético Club's Teodoro Vaz got a free kick in the 95th minute. For all the effort they put into the match, the Criciúma Esporte Clube players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense.
