GeNÇ ÇoTaNaKLaR's Kılıçalp Öksak played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aydın Ustaoğlu in the 35th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Ali Erdem Yalınç kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Francesco Toldo. That made the score 2-0 in the 39 minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
