After having played for 67 minutes, Villu Niit managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The audience was convinced that Ferdinand Fabry's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Brun Hello was relentless in the 72nd minute of the game. Vladimiro Modestio got in the 81st minute a good position and tried a long shot which to a great surprise passed a very astonished Niek Molhoek. This was a shot which ended in a score of 1-3. After 84 minutes of play, Avelgem ad. Schelde's Ferdinand Fabry made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Brun Hello was left in no man's land by his defense there! The audience thought a goal was coming when Viggo Ennegren got free with Niek Molhoek in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Amos Scotti fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Niek Molhoek having to interfere. Brun Hello made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Henri-Xavier Lenaerts in the 95th minute of play. The Avelgem ad. Schelde fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. AC Milan were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
