To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Edmond Verdun made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erlantz Bermejo in the 46th minute of play. 48 minutes had been played when some careless play by Errecaborda AFC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Nereo Acosta was slow to take the kick. During this time A.D. Alcorcón's players had a chance to rest. A.D. Alcorcón's Nereo Acosta was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Edmond Verdun in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The wind increased when Joe Tate made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Belo Alvarez in the 55th minute of play forced Errecaborda AFC's goalkeeper Edmond Verdun to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edmond Verdun was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A.D. Alcorcón were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest.
