Danny Paine took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from 尤珂亦, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 19 minutes, Vincent Needham mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Carlisle United and the 『挑战者』大斌 players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Carlisle United's Vincent Needham got a free kick in the 19th minute. Danny Paine made an important save on a dangerous shot by 唐枫弘 in the 25th minute. 『挑战者』大斌's 唐枫弘 got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Carlisle United's Tod Acton got a free kick in the 29th minute. 唐枫弘 received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. In the 42nd minute Vincent Needham shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but 程骏傲 saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Carlisle United booed when 『挑战者』大斌 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. 尤珂亦 didn't get a good kick on the ball. 程骏傲 showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thomas Power in the 45th minute of the match. After the first half Carlisle United were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell 尤珂亦 to make the kick off. If Thomas Power had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tod Acton during the 75th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 82 played minutes Carlisle United's Vincent Needham stole the ball from his opponents and shot the ball towards the upper left corner, but 程骏傲 stretched himself as far as he could, and stopped the ball from passing the line. robbing 『挑战者』大斌 of the goal. 曹南迅 took the ball and in the 88 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Danny Paine.
