In the 24th minute, Luciano da Costa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ximenes Barnechea was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Enéas Leme made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rius Vivar in the 29th minute of play. In the 33rd minute, Fiori Sá left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The 27 de Mayo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. The supporters of Alianza Trujillo booed when 27 de Mayo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Egídio Proença didn't get a good kick on the ball. Egídio Proença fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ximenes Barnechea having to interfere. A collision led to 27 de Mayo getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Fiori Sá hit a great ball. After the first half 27 de Mayo were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When Jonathan Cabuerniga fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Alianza Trujillo's protests and gave Jonathan Cabuerniga a yellow card for diving instead. Jonathan Cabuerniga hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Alianza Trujillo's Egoitz Cejudo was substituted for Alberto Antoñano. Alianza Trujillo made a substitution. Froilan Barros replaced Mingo Cercalde. A collision led to Alianza Trujillo getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Jonathan Cabuerniga hit a great ball. 60 minutes into the game, Fiori Sá cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Ximenes Barnechea was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 63rd minute Luciano da Costa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ximenes Barnechea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 68 minutes, Ximenes Barnechea successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Enéas Leme showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raulo Seda in the 70th minute of the match. Egídio Proença kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. 87 minutes into the match, Alianza Trujillo's goal looked a bit too open when Kauan Amaral came free, but Ximenes Barnechea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, 27 de Mayo's Cristóvão Prado got a free kick in the 89th minute. 27 de Mayo's Enéas Leme played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Froilan Barros in the 91st minute of play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched 27 de Mayo eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
