Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Edgardo Silva stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 54 played minutes New England Minas got a freekick which was hit by Jörgen Frohm. CD Municipal made a substitution. Tulio Andinyach replaced Evtim Kúrdzhev. New England Minas's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Glen Conklin in the 60th minute. New England Minas's Glen Conklin was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but George Forsyth in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Jeremy Nicholas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Enrique Cassaretto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jeremy Nicholas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 88 minutes, Enrique Cassaretto made it 2-1 with a short kick to the right side. New England Minas's Jeremy Nicholas tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. New England Minas's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
