After a defensive mix-up in Los Hornos's zone, Americo Lluc stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Everardo Francho came out of the goal and Americo Lluc tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 33 minutes into the match, Los Hornos's Paulo Opilano sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gustavo Campagnuolo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 35th match minute, Sportivo Luan Toro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Norberto-Doroteo Méndez to maneuver through the defense. After 36 minutes of play, Los Hornos's Paulo Opilano made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gustavo Campagnuolo was left in no man's land by his defense there! The audience thought a goal was coming when Norberto-Doroteo Méndez got free with Everardo Francho in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 43rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Los Hornos's goalkeeper Everardo Francho, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Sportivo Luan Toro's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Rodri De Paul in the 44th minute. The corner ended in Rodri De Paul almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Los Hornos's Everardo Francho did a great save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Norberto-Doroteo Méndez in the 47th minute of play forced Los Hornos's goalkeeper Everardo Francho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Americo Lluc to strike the kick off in the second half. Everardo Francho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Norberto-Doroteo Méndez in the 51st minute of play. Norberto-Doroteo Méndez blasted a shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Everardo Francho having to make a save. Los Hornos's Everardo Francho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Norberto-Doroteo Méndez in the 60th minute of play. 66 minutes into the game, Julian Betadur was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sportivo Luan Toro's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Los Hornos the free kick. The supporters of Los Hornos booed when Sportivo Luan Toro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Julian Betadur didn't get a good kick on the ball.
