Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) U21 Belgium's Fransesco Jenken started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute, Klaas Jan Mol made a precise shot to the right of Leo van Goetsenhoven. U21 Belgium's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Qwinten Voorhof during the 7th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Qwinten Voorhof kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. U21 Belgium's Leo van Goetsenhoven played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Robert Collen in the 8th minute of play. Ferry Hebels scored 0-2 in the 9th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Leo van Goetsenhoven, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Marnix Van Acker managed to get in a good position for a shot. U21 Belgium's supporters rose to their feet, but Marnix Van Acker was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dennis Beerthuis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 21st minute, Klaas Jan Mol made a precise shot to the right of Leo van Goetsenhoven. U21 Belgium's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ferry Hebels in the 24th minute of play forced U21 Belgium's goalkeeper Leo van Goetsenhoven to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 26 minutes into the game, Ferry Hebels cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Leo van Goetsenhoven was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 28th match minute, U21 Belgium was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Robbie Pieters to maneuver through the defense. In the 31st minute Ted Fokkelman suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. Chaouki Ben Rau's late challenge caught a U21 Netherlands's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Chaouki Ben Rau helped the player get up and apologised. In the 32nd minute, Chaouki Ben Rau hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Leo van Goetsenhoven came out of the goal in the 35th minute to try and stop a shot by U21 Netherlands's Ferry Hebels. But to his dismay, Ferry Hebels quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. When Lex Haesevoets fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored U21 Belgium's protests and gave Lex Haesevoets a yellow card for diving instead. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 41st minute of the game. One of U21 Belgium:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of U21 Netherlands:s goal. In the 42nd minute, Marnix Mastebroek made a precise shot to the right of Leo van Goetsenhoven. U21 Belgium's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-6. 47 minutes into the match, U21 Belgium's goal looked a bit too open when Robert Collen came free, but Leo van Goetsenhoven reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-6 lead.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Robert Collen was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 54 minutes, Robert Collen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. U21 Netherlands's supporters crossed their fingers, but Robert Collen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 56th minute Ferry Hebels shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leo van Goetsenhoven saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leo van Goetsenhoven took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Robert Collen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ferry Hebels fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leo van Goetsenhoven having to interfere. In the 62nd minute, Robert Collen left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The U21 Netherlands fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-7. U21 Belgium's Leo van Goetsenhoven proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save U21 Belgium from getting a goal against them. Leo van Goetsenhoven was out of position in the 67 minute of play, and Robert Collen capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Robert Collen really showed his touch with that goal: 0-8. Roelof Molenaar's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 73rdth minute, Leo van Goetsenhoven skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Roelof Molenaar had several of the U21 Belgium's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 73 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-9 score and a disappointed Leo van Goetsenhoven as he didn't even see the shot coming. In the 78th match minute, U21 Netherlands was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hugo Andriessen to maneuver through the defense. In the 79th minute of the match Dean Rijniers shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dennis Beerthuis showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 87th minute, Robert Collen reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Leo van Goetsenhoven. The goal made the score 0-10. After having played for 90 minutes, Roelof Molenaar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. U21 Netherlands's supporters crossed their fingers, but Roelof Molenaar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ferry Hebels kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. 94 minutes into the match, U21 Belgium's goal looked a bit too open when Robert Collen came free, but Leo van Goetsenhoven reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. U21 Netherlands's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
