The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. José de Queirós received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Stanford Peters tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kentucky Mustangs's Stanford Peters played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José de Queirós in the 6th minute of play. Stanford Peters showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erivaldo Maia in the 7th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that José de Queirós's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Stanford Peters was relentless in the 9th minute of the game. In the 11th minute, Gerson Dionísio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 14 played minutes Guadalupe FC got a freekick which was hit by Cevher Özyuva. Kentucky Mustangs's Dwight Manning got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Kentucky Mustangs booed when Guadalupe FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cléber Ramos didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Guadalupe FC fans' excitement grew in the 21st match minute when Guadalupe FC's Ursino Fuente looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After 26 minutes of play, Guadalupe FC's José de Queirós made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Stanford Peters was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 29thth minute of the game José de Queirós who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Kentucky Mustangs's Stanford Peters was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by José de Queirós in the 33rd minute of play forced Kentucky Mustangs's goalkeeper Stanford Peters to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Stanford Peters made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ursino Fuente in the 35th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 36 minutes, José de Queirós put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Stanford Peters. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling José de Queirós in the 43rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Stanford Peters prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Guadalupe FC's Luís Eduardo Garcia proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save Guadalupe FC from getting a goal against them. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jack Agnes made a kick off. In the 51st minute Guadalupe FC were awarded a corner. Hílton Pernambucano went to the cornerflag to take it. If Ursino Fuente had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Kentucky Mustangs's Dwight Manning got a free kick in the 58th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, José de Queirós managed to get in a good position for a shot. Guadalupe FC's supporters rose to their feet, but José de Queirós was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Stanford Peters breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hílton Pernambucano got free with Stanford Peters in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Stanford Peters made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when José de Queirós sent off a good shot on target. Tracy Brunson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Luís Eduardo Garcia read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 76th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when José de Queirós got free with Stanford Peters in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 78 minutes into the match, Guadalupe FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gao Lang Feng came free, but Luís Eduardo Garcia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With his leg Stanford Peters managed to avoid a goal in the 80thth minute, when Guadalupe FC's José de Queirós fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. José de Queirós fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stanford Peters having to interfere. Stanford Peters made a fantastic save in the 86th minute, when Luís Guilherme Vides sent off a good shot on target. If Luís Guilherme Vides had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
