Tomás Las Casas was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. FSX UNITED's Svend Betz got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tomás Las Casas was a little too slow when Svend Betz got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 27th minute. The score was now 2-0. Tomás Las Casas was out of position in the 31 minute of play, and Svend Betz capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Svend Betz really showed his touch with that goal: 3-0. Ye Wei took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kadim Sebil, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tomás Las Casas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Svend Betz in the 38th minute of play. Ye Wei showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kadim Sebil, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. After some careless play in the Magallanes defense, Svend Betz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tomás Las Casas. The Magallanes fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tomás Las Casas should have stopped the shot. FSX UNITED's Tancredo Landon managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Tomás Thompson in the 45 minute of the game. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Svend Betz to make the kick off. Magallanes's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Svend Betz was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. FSX UNITED made a substitution. Thomas Cochrane replaced Evelio Matetich. FSX UNITED's Marcelo Salas was substituted for Mircea Popilean. With a little luck, FSX UNITED's Ye Wei got control of the ball when Peio Raggio tried to sneak it across the goal line. Maximiliano Ossa struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Ye Wei didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Magallanes. Tomás Las Casas came out of the goal in the 74th minute to try and stop a shot by FSX UNITED's Thomas Cochrane. But to his dismay, Thomas Cochrane quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-0. Ye Wei made a fantastic save in the 80th minute, when Juan Mondaca sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thomas Cochrane in the 83rd minute of play forced Magallanes's goalkeeper Tomás Las Casas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 87th minute, Marcelo Salas left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FSX UNITED fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 7-0.
