The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 36th minute, one of IpiráCity FC ✠⚓♡:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for IpiráCity FC ✠⚓♡. Zé Joinvilense walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. After a rather tough play, IpiráCity FC ✠⚓♡'s Tarcisio Ramos got a free kick in the 44th minute. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Thiago Correia made the kick off in the second half. When Nelson Eger fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Joinville Esporte Clube's protests and gave Nelson Eger a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of IpiráCity FC ✠⚓♡ booed when Joinville Esporte Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nelson Eger didn't get a good kick on the ball.
