Los Andes FC - FSCMZ's Ruy Montenegro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Johannes Kruuse in the 10th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gernando Azevedo in the 14th minute of play forced S.C. Corinthians Paulista's goalkeeper Fırat Aytekin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ruy Montenegro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Johannes Kruuse in the 19th minute of play. Fırat Aytekin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gernando Azevedo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Gernando Azevedo came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Los Andes FC - FSCMZ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gernando Azevedo couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Los Andes FC - FSCMZ's zone, Nildo Rosa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ruy Montenegro came out of the goal and Nildo Rosa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 44th match minute, S.C. Corinthians Paulista was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valdecir Carlos to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Los Andes FC - FSCMZ getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Andolín Dijk hit a great ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Johannes Kruuse made a kick off. Valdecir Carlos made in the 52nd minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Cléberson Paraense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Johannes Kruuse in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ruy Montenegro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. S.C. Corinthians Paulista were awarded a corner in the 59th minute after Los Andes FC - FSCMZ's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Maurício Rodrigues took the corner. Fırat Aytekin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gernando Azevedo, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. After having played for 62 minutes, Nildo Rosa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. S.C. Corinthians Paulista's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nildo Rosa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Los Andes FC - FSCMZ's Gernando Azevedo got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. S.C. Corinthians Paulista's Camillo Giandomenico was substituted for Johannes Kruuse. When the match had gone on for 72 minutes, Camillo Giandomenico put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Ruy Montenegro. In the 76th minute, Gernando Azevedo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
