In the 13th minute, Nicolas Hamard ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Kryspin Cupial was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Uwe Birmes's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 18thth minute, Joe Camp skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Joe Camp made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Junior Quintana in the 21st minute of play. Cosa nostra Lyon's Félicien Boidin was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 24th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Joe Plantin was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 27 minutes into the match. 27 minutes into the game, one of Cosa nostra Lyon:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Cats and dogs a penalty, 29 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Nicolas Hamard, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Cosa nostra Lyon's Kryspin Cupial. 1-2. The supporters of Cosa nostra Lyon booed when Cats and dogs was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Salim Vera didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cosa nostra Lyon's Junior Quintana got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Junior Quintana in the 39th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Joe Camp prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Joe Camp was out of position in the 40 minute of play, and Junior Quintana capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Junior Quintana really showed his touch with that goal: 2-2. Cats and dogs's Joe Camp proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save Cats and dogs from getting a goal against them. Through an outstanding action, after 45 minutes, Joe Camp successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Junior Quintana was the one to do the kick off. Joe Camp made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Junior Quintana in the 51st minute of play. Félicien Boidin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Joe Camp tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 68th minute Félicien Boidin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joe Camp saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Joe Camp showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Félicien Boidin in the 69th minute of the match. Kryspin Cupial made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gaétan Bouchard in the 72nd minute. Joe Camp took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Félicien Boidin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Cats and dogs defense, Junior Quintana kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joe Camp. The Cats and dogs fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joe Camp should have stopped the shot. 84 minutes into the game, Cosa nostra Lyon's Félicien Boidin nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Joe Camp made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-2. Kryspin Cupial was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Nicolas Hamard showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 5-3 in the 88 minute of play. Cosa nostra Lyon walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
