FC Maci -MM-'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Emil Atanasiu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. Vladimir Kramnik took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ionică Savu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sabin Miclauș received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Mugurel Slătineanu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Disappointed in the 2-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Anatoly Karpov made the kick off in the second half. The throw-in from Aurelian Răchitan in the 53rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by FC Maci -MM-'s Felix Lucaci. AFC Nirosxn 08 were awarded a corner in the 56th minute after FC Maci -MM-'s defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Doru Şelaru took the corner. In the 56th minute, Calistrat Bolborici hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 59 minutes into the match, FC Maci -MM-'s goal looked a bit too open when Emil Atanasiu came free, but Vladimir Kramnik reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the FC Maci -MM- defense, Emil Atanasiu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Vladimir Kramnik. The FC Maci -MM- fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vladimir Kramnik should have stopped the shot. AFC Nirosxn 08's Mugurel Slătineanu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to save AFC Nirosxn 08 from getting a goal against them. FC Maci -MM- made a substitution. Magnus Carlsen replaced Anatoly Karpov. Doru Şelaru kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. The corner led to FC Maci -MM-'s Vlad Mavrogheni getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Laurențiu Todericiu in the 75th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Vladimir Kramnik prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Mugurel Slătineanu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Magnus Carlsen in the 77th minute of the match. A throw-in in the 79th minute of the game was made by Avram Zdrehuş with Laurențiu Todericiu as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Mugurel Slătineanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Magnus Carlsen in the 82nd minute of play. After 83 minutes AFC Nirosxn 08's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Emanuel Petruescu who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Emanuel Petruescu got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Mugurel Slătineanu quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After 85 minutes, Sabin Miclauș mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Maci -MM- and the AFC Nirosxn 08 players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 94th minute, Ştefan Bogrea got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. AFC Nirosxn 08 were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
