With a couple of smart ball manuevers Avram Pârvan in the 3rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Valer Onișoru saved PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca from getting behind. Valer Onișoru showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Avram Pârvan, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. 13 minutes into the match, PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's goal looked a bit too open when Sergiu Coșeriu came free, but Valer Onișoru reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After taking down the ball on Academia Rio's corner Dumitru Pantelimon fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Valer Onișoru quite easily take care of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Avram Pârvan in the 16th minute of play forced PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's goalkeeper Valer Onișoru to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Academia Rio's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Dumitru Pantelimon in the 17th minute. In the 19th minute, Avram Pârvan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Valer Onișoru was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Valer Onișoru took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Avram Pârvan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Academia Rio booed when PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Codruț Macaneață didn't get a good kick on the ball. 23 minutes into the match, PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's goal looked a bit too open when Olimpiu Dichiseanu came free, but Valer Onișoru reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Avram Tudor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 32 minutes into the match, PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's goal looked a bit too open when Avram Pârvan came free, but Valer Onișoru reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Valer Onișoru stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Avram Pârvan's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. Valer Onișoru came out of the goal in the 36th minute to try and stop a shot by Academia Rio's Avram Pârvan. But to his dismay, Avram Pârvan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. After a rather tough play, PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's Silver Phoenix got a free kick in the 38th minute. In the 40thth minute of the game Avram Pârvan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's Valer Onișoru was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 40 minutes, Avram Pârvan made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's Valer Onișoru tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Iurie Bănățeanu to make the kick off. PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's Valer Onișoru proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 50th minute of the match, managed to save PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca from getting a goal against them. In the 53rdth minute of the game Avram Pârvan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's Valer Onișoru was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Avram Pârvan in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Valer Onișoru prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Avram Pârvan in the 62nd minute of play forced PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's goalkeeper Valer Onișoru to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Avram Pârvan in the 65thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Valer Onișoru, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Felix Mihăilescu charged in rather forcefully in the 70th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Felix Mihăilescu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 70th match minute, PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix Mihăilescu to maneuver through the defense. In the 73rd minute Avram Pârvan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valer Onișoru saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Valer Onișoru made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Avram Pârvan in the 75th minute of play. In the 79thth minute of the game Avram Pârvan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's Valer Onișoru was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Valer Onișoru came out of the goal in the 81st minute to try and stop a shot by Academia Rio's Avram Pârvan. But to his dismay, Avram Pârvan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. Valer Onișoru made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sergiu Coșeriu in the 88th minute. After 89 played minutes PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca got a freekick which was hit by Iurie Bănățeanu. With an all-out effort, Academia Rio's Valer Onișoru threw himself towards the right post 90 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Avram Pârvan, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. With a little luck, PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's Valer Onișoru got control of the ball when Avram Pârvan tried to sneak it across the goal line. Academia Rio played a much better game than PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca and deserved their victory. The PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
