One of SCs StarS:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Fotbal Club Vaslui:s goal. Thiago Gol's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Andrei Oloieru read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. In the 36th minute Toader Muncelean shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nigel Maurits saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Filip Aanicăi in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nigel Maurits saved SCs StarS from getting behind. Fotbal Club Vaslui's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Radu Ispas in the 41st minute. A nice corner shot did that Radu Ispas got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Nigel Maurits quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Thiago Gol in the 45th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Andrei Oloieru saved Fotbal Club Vaslui from getting behind. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

SCs StarS's attentive Co Scholten managed to snatch the ball when Traian Zegreanu made a throw-in in the 80th minute of the game. In the 81st minute the ball was on its way in behind SCs StarS's goalkeeper Nigel Maurits, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 83 minutes had been played when some careless play by SCs StarS's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Radu Ispas was slow to take the kick. During this time Fotbal Club Vaslui's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Gică Hăulică almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but SCs StarS's Nigel Maurits did a great save. Filip Aanicăi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal.
