The audience held their breath when Avram Coja in the 46th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Nigel Maurits's left hand side. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

SCs StarS's Nigel Maurits played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Matei Vâtcă in the 54th minute of play. Nigel Maurits showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lucrețiu Cernea in the 55th minute of the match. Emilian Zdraşcu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thiago Gol, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Thiago Gol's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Emilian Zdraşcu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 60th minute of play. In the 62nd minute Aron Murgescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nigel Maurits saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aurelian Nae received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Nigel Maurits tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Henk Zijden kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match.
