The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 13th minute, Jens Burmeister made a precise shot to the right of Grigore Stolojan. Renașterea Drumul Taberei's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. 16 minutes into the match, Paul Tolkmitt notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of Renașterea Drumul Taberei's Grigore Stolojan. Grigore Stolojan was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When the match had been going on for 20 minutes Jens Burmeister shot a great shot from long distance. It looked like a certain goal, but the audience witnessed a really smashing save by Grigore Stolojan when he caught the ball only just under the crossbar. 22 minutes into the match, Jens Burmeister had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Grigore Stolojan. Renașterea Drumul Taberei's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jens Burmeister was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-5. After recieving a nice pass, Borussia Dortmund's Jens Burmeister tried to score from far away in the 26th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Grigore Stolojan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paul Tolkmitt in the 27th minute of the match. Renașterea Drumul Taberei's Grigore Stolojan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfons Bourgignon in the 28th minute of play. Grigore Stolojan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jens Burmeister in the 30th minute of the match. In the 32nd minute, Jens Burmeister left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Borussia Dortmund fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-6. Grigore Stolojan came out of the goal in the 35th minute to try and stop a shot by Borussia Dortmund's Oliver Josef Topp. But to his dismay, Oliver Josef Topp quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-7. 37 minutes into the match, Borussia Dortmund's goal looked a bit too open when Petru Pacuraru came free, but Reynaldo Custódio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jens Burmeister in the 39th minute of play forced Renașterea Drumul Taberei's goalkeeper Grigore Stolojan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Renașterea Drumul Taberei defense, Alfons Bourgignon kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Grigore Stolojan. The Renașterea Drumul Taberei fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Grigore Stolojan should have stopped the shot. Grigore Stolojan didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jens Burmeister went, in the 43rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-9 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfons Bourgignon in the 46th minute of play forced Renașterea Drumul Taberei's goalkeeper Grigore Stolojan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Grigore Stolojan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paul Tolkmitt, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. Horea Dobrotă hit a great freekick 48 minutes into the match.

Horea Dobrotă helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Borussia Dortmund booed when Renașterea Drumul Taberei was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Horea Dobrotă didn't get a good kick on the ball. Grigore Stolojan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jens Burmeister, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Grigore Stolojan didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mathias Sobbe went, in the 61st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-10 was the resulting score. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mathias Sobbe got free with Grigore Stolojan in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 72nd minute, Oliver Josef Topp reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Grigore Stolojan. The goal made the score 0-13. In the 74th minute Jens Burmeister shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Grigore Stolojan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Oliver Josef Topp could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Grigore Stolojan made a huge save. Grigore Stolojan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfons Bourgignon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 80 minutes into the match, Renașterea Drumul Taberei's goalkeeper Grigore Stolojan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Paul Tolkmitt. Renașterea Drumul Taberei's Grigore Stolojan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to save Renașterea Drumul Taberei from getting a goal against them. In the 96th match minute, Renașterea Drumul Taberei was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Horea Dobrotă to maneuver through the defense. Paul Tolkmitt could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but Grigore Stolojan made a huge save. Petru Pacuraru received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 99th minute. Reynaldo Custódio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Borussia Dortmund played a much better game than Renașterea Drumul Taberei and deserved their victory. The Renașterea Drumul Taberei players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
