Drew Casey took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antoine Schaefer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Khachatryan's zone, Dale Kirkpatrick stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jermaine Richmond came out of the goal and Dale Kirkpatrick tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sung McKinley in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Drew Casey prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Antoine Schaefer took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Drew Casey. Drew Casey dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. The supporters of Khachatryan booed when University of Rochester was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maxwell Calcagnini didn't get a good kick on the ball. Merlin Castro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Drew Casey having to interfere. When Merlin Castro came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Khachatryan fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Merlin Castro couldn't finish the play.
