Naldo Oliveira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gabriele Batistuta in the 12th minute of play. Naldo Oliveira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bastiaan Bruintjes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Umberto Trigo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Umberto Trigo came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Barrenta SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Umberto Trigo couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Lemel SV booed when Barrenta SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alan Teles didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Umberto Trigo fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Barrenta SC's protests and gave Umberto Trigo a yellow card for diving instead. 31 minutes into the match, Barrenta SC's goal looked a bit too open when Reinhard Braamhaar came free, but Naldo Oliveira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 32 minutes into the match, Lemel SV's goalkeeper Olivier Kahn had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Murilo Mazza. Naldo Oliveira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gabriele Batistuta in the 34th minute of play. Barrenta SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Umberto Trigo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Umberto Trigo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Olivier Kahn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 47 played minutes Lemel SV got a freekick which was hit by Sjoerd Bosschaart. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Pieter den Hartog to strike the kick off in the second half. Barrenta SC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Gabriele Batistuta 52 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-2. After 87 minutes of play, Barrenta SC's Murilo Mazza made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Olivier Kahn was left in no man's land by his defense there! 91 minutes into the match, Pieter den Hartog notched a goal, 1-5, to the right of Barrenta SC's Naldo Oliveira. Naldo Oliveira was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Sjoerd Bosschaart hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Lemel SV had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
