Lucjan Skarpiak received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Olivier Kahn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Serge de Boer's late challenge caught a Gocław Wilga Warszawa's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. It was a well-played corner which Radowit Polkoski managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. After having played for 26 minutes, Radomir Piczak managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gocław Wilga Warszawa's supporters crossed their fingers, but Radomir Piczak was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jean-Pierre Papin received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Pawel Moryl came out and tried to block the shot, but Jean-Pierre Papin slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 31st minute. After 39 minutes, Lucjan Skarpiak mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gocław Wilga Warszawa and the Lemel SV players grew even worse after the yellow card. Olivier Kahn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lucjan Skarpiak in the 44th minute of the match. 46 minutes into the match, Lucjan Skarpiak notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Lemel SV's Olivier Kahn. Lemel SV's supporters rose to their feet, but Jean-Pierre Papin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pawel Moryl breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Gocław Wilga Warszawa eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
